Your PIN never touches your secrets directly. It unlocks a separate master key, and that key is what actually encrypts everything inside. So changing your PIN doesn't mean re-encrypting your whole vault — and a wrong PIN simply can't open anything. Not by promise. By math.
Ten wrong attempts trigger an escalating cooldown, and — if you choose to turn it on — an optional wipe. Your data's only copy is the one in your hand.
